Dimensional
In every breathing soul, there is a common denominator that often does not get the recognition that they deem. Whether that denominator is physically being or existing within their offspring, they still exist. Too frequently, their sacrifices go unnoticed, and their impact is underestimated.
A nurturer, a teacher, a friend; mothers are dimensional.
My earliest memory of my mom and a more recent memory of her are “night and day.” When I was younger, my mother was always “mothering.” Whether that was sewing our clothes, making our meals, or tucking us to sleep, whatever she was doing, we were her focus.
Today’s memory of her is of her, “living her best life”.
We often forget that mothers are more than just our moms. They have goals and dreams. Also, they once were a child (like us) with experiences that they may have never shared. They may still be learning, and they may be a “work in progress.” However, mothers are people too. People with feelings, knowledge, ideas, and talent.
This Mother’s Day, not only acknowledge your mom but acknowledge the person that she is.
